Activity Description

The Department of Internal Medicine C is one of five Internal Medicine wards where patients are admitted with a variety of illnesses such as cardiac, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and nervous system diseases, various neoplastic diseases, and different infectious diseases such as pneumonia, urinary tract infection, meningitis, and many others. The goal of the hospitalization is to diagnose the medical condition and treat the patient so that he can return to his normal everyday life. Some of the patients require various diagnostic procedures during their stay; some are invasive such as coronary catheterization, and some are non-invasive, such as computerized tomography (CT), and ultrasound imaging. These diagnostic procedures are performed in addition to other routine tests like blood, urine and other bodily fluid tests.

The department is unique in that it integrates a dialysis unit for immobile outpatients and inpatients. The patients in the unit are treatd by and under the supervision of the nephrologists.
