What is heart rehabilitation:

The cardiology complex at the Barzilai Medical Center serves as the regional center for treating heart disease for the best interest of Ashkelon citizens and the surrounding areas. From now on, heart rehabilitation service is open for every body, and all in one place.
A new well equipped gym is available to the participants along with medical supervision and friendly and supportive professional staff.

To whom is the rehabilitation appropriate?

• Patients after myocardial infarction
• Patients with stable angina
• Patients suffering from heart failure
• Patients after heart surgery such as:
                   • coronary bypass
                   • heart transplantation
                   • Valve repair or replacement
                   • Repair of congenital heart defect

• Patients with pacemaker or defibrillator implantation
• Population with risk factors for heart disease such as:
                   • Hypertension
                   • Diabetes
                   • Hyperlipidemia
•     lowering treatment goals  

Goals of heart rehabilitation :

The rehabilitation program is individually adapted according to the functional and medical condition of the participant.

The program includes:

Physical exercise in a gym with advanced equipments
Close medical supervision and heart monitoring system
Follow-up and medical counseling by a cardiologist and a certified nurse graduate of an intensive care course
Personally costumed training activities by an effort physiologist and physical fitness qualified instructors
Lectures on healthy lifestyle, nutrition, medication, and more
Group walking and exercise outside the institute.

Registration
Cardiologist check up
Nurse assessment
Preparing a training program by the physiologist
Scheduling to a training group and tour at the gym

Please bring with you the following medical documents on the day of the meeting :
Medical Reports
Recent blood tests
Results of stress test and echocardiography
Surgery report and any other important document
