A new Internal Medicine Department at the Barzilai Medical Center

Dr. Chezy Levy, the Medical Director of the Barzilai Medical Center, described the reduction of high occupancy rate and workload in the internal departments a high-priority target.

As part of a series of actions to achieve the goal, another internal department was opened this week - the Department of Internal Medicine H. Opening of the department was made possible with the assistance of the Ministry of Health as part of adding inpatient beds to the health system.

The new department occupies 15 inpatient beds, and it is located in the basement of the outpatient clinic building, providing protection even in times of emergency.
The department will be managed by Dr. Landa and Mrs. Eti Akrish as Nurse in Charge.

The Medical Center Director, Dr. Chezy Levy, believes that opening the Department will facilitate the tremendous workload in the internal medicine departments, and will provide inpatient care and more suitable conditions for the 500,000 people that the Barzilai Medical Center serves.

It needs to be noted that this is the first step of comprehensive course intending to the construction of another internal medicine department, that will be completed in about two years, and which will include 38 beds, including the beds that have been added now.
