Newborns and especially premature are prone to infection due to many reasons such as low immunity, multiple invasive procedures, long stay in the hospital and development of resistant infectious organisms. Such an infection may pass from one to other with contact through hands, instruments and clothes. Parents must obey the strict orders of infection control of the department:

  • Only Parents are allowed to enter the department.
  • Only two persons can stay beside the baby.
  • Grandmothers and grandfathers can stay near the baby for a short time only.
  • Do not enter the department if you are sick.
  • Take off any jewelry and watches.
  • Leave your coat outside the department.
  • Wash your hands with antiseptic soap before entering the department.
  • Wear a single use gown.
  • Do not leave any personal thing near the baby's bed.
  • Clean your hands with antiseptic solution before and after each contact with your baby and his environment.
  • Keep your nails clean and short and take off any artificial nails.
  • Food and beverages are not allowed in the department.
  • Take off the gown upon leaving the department.
