The bone density clinic is part of the endocrinology unit. The bone density examination is a fee for service and not covered by the HMOs. Evaluation of the bone density (osteoporosis) is very important, especially for the elderly, since it helps to predict

the risk of fractures and spontaneous fractures, and to begin preventive treatment.

More than 2200 examinations were done during the last year and our purpose is to increase this number for the sake of the elderly population.
